Learn to add vertices to an object in Snaptrude. This feature enables the creation of new corners or the alteration of existing ones. Note that this tool works only in 2D view.
Adding Vertex to Space
Step 1: Navigate to the top toolbar in the Design mode in the 2D view and select Add Vertex.
Step 2: Hover over the edge where you want to add the new vertex. A blue snap point will appear to guide you. (Snap point is green for midpoint)
Step 3: Click once satisfied with the point's position. This action adds a vertex to that edge there. You can add multiple vertices along the same edge.
Step 4: Use the Edit (P) tool to adjust the newly split vertex or edge as needed. Note that you can edit this vertex or edge in the 3D view as well using the Push/pull tool (P).
Pro-tip: By clicking inside a space, you can reveal all its current vertices. This feature simplifies the task by allowing you to see all existing vertices, enabling you to place new vertices accurately.
Note: If an edge shared by two spaces is edited with the add vertex, the edits will reflect on both the spaces.
Adding Vertex to BIM Elements
Vertex can be added to walls, slabs, roof, floorings, columns, beams, and generic masses in the BIM mode. Note that, this tool cannot be used for Ceilings.
Lets looks at how to add vertex to floorings:
Step 1: Click on Add Vertex from the top toolbar in the BIM mode in the 2D view of your project.
Step 2: (Optionally) Click inside the object to reveal all current vertices.
Step 3: Hover over the edge and left-click at the point where the new vertex should be. You add multiple vertices along the same edge as well.
Step 4: Use the Edit tool to adjust the newly created vertices. Observe how the flooring changes after adding the vertex.
Apply same steps to edit walls, slabs, roof, floorings, columns, beams, and generic masses in the BIM mode.
