Reference Lines

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create and work with reference lines.

Step 1: Choose a draw tool - Line, Arc, Circle or Rectangle

Step 2: From the Object Type panel, choose the Reference lines option.

Step 3: Set the line properties
- Line Colour: Use the Color Picker slider or enter a Hex code.
- Line Thickness: Select from 1- 12 (with 1 being the thinnest) thickness options
- Line Style: Choose from between Solid, Dashed & Dash Dot line style options

Step 4: Start sketching out the reference line on your canvas. You can define a specific length and angle for more precision

Step 5: Press 'Enter' to finish the drawing process.

Once your reference line is drawn, you can edit it in the Object Properties panel. You can change the color, thickness, or line style even after it's drawn.

You can then use them as a base for sketching on your canvas. The draw tool will easily snap to the edges of the reference line.

Note:

1. All reference lines are visible on all stories. If you draw a reference line on Story 2, it'll also be visible on Story 1. This helps you use reference lines across stories when designing your project.

2. You can also create reference lines in the 3D view. Follow the same steps as before. When drawing, use the up arrow key to draw a vertical reference line. As you draw a vertical reference line, it'll automatically snap to the green axis.
