Getting Started

Step 1: Select a drawing tool: Click the "Line", โ€Arcโ€ or "Circle" tool from the design tab. A toolbar will appear on the right side of your screen, presenting various object types.

Image

Step 2: From the "Object Type" toolbar on the right side, choose "Slab." Then choose the desired slab type from the dropdown menu and adjust the slab thickness if required using the slider or entering a value.

Step 3: Select the draw mode from offset modes or freeform draw mode.

Drawing using Freeform mode

After selecting the freeform mode, begin sketching the slab boundary. A slab will automatically be generated based on the profile you've drawn. You can also enter the dimension values for accuracy while drawing the slab sketch.

Drawing using Offset modes

Use the offset modes to create a slab with a specific width. There are three options available: Center, External, and Internal. Choose the mode that best suits your needs, then set the desired offset width. This method is especially useful for creating a slab around an existing one or for quickly drawing rectangular slabs with defined widths.

Step 1: Select one of the offset modes, i.e., center, external or internal, as per your requirement and input the offset width as needed.

Option 1: Make Geometry continuous

Step 1: If you wish to create slab using offset mode which has a continuous geometry, check the 'Make geometry continuous box'.

Image

Step 2: Then, begin sketching on the design canvas. Drag the cursor to define the sketch boundary (you can also input the dimension value manually accuracy). Press enter to finish. The slab created will be a solid unified one.

Option 2: Make Geometry discontinuous

Step 1: If you wish to create slab using offset mode which has fragmented geometry, uncheck the 'Make geometry continuous box'.

Image

Step 2: As mentioned previously, begin sketching on the canvas. Press enter to finish. Here, the slabs created are independent entities with their own label, geometry & area.

Edit Properties

1. Object Properties: Select the slab and modify its properties using the Object Properties toolbar on the right side of the workspace.

a. To change the slab type, click on the dropdown arrow & select from the default list.

b. Change the dimensions of the slab thickness and overhang by either entering the respective value or from the slider.

c. Other information about the slab length, area, volume, Storey, etc can also be viewed in the properties tab.

2. Push/Pull Tool: You can also edit the thickness, height, length, and width of the slab using the Push/pull tool. Activate the Push/pull tool (Shortcut โ€œPโ€), click, and move the edge, face, or vertex of the slab you wish to change.

Pro-Tip:

1. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to restrict the cursor's movement in that direction.

2. Create a Ramp from a slab using the Move & Push/Pull tool in the 3D mode.

3. Other editing options: Use the available editing tools available in the design tab such as Push/pull, Copy/Array, Rotate, Flip, etc to further edit the slabs created. For detailed information on using these tools, visit the Model Editing Tools help page.
