Click on the Draw Mass tool. Use a surface of room, mass or wall as a reference plane to draw the profile of the beam, pergola or other elevational feature.

The profile must be drawn in a complete loop.

Once the profile surface is created, use the Extrude tool. Click on the surface and move the mouse to extrude. You can also enter a numerical value for the extrusion.

Pro Tip: The Extrude tool can only be used in a project created in the Massing mode. Check the top right corner on the right panel to see if the project is Massing or BIM.
