Scaling a room, space or a group of rooms and spaces

Scaling a room, space or a group of rooms and spaces How to scale rooms or masses to increase their height or overall size Amritha Krishnan

In Massing mode, you can scale rooms and spaces to make them larger or smaller. You cannot scale BIM objects like walls, fenestration or furniture.

Click on the scale tool and click on the room you want to scale.

In plan view, scale grips appear at the corners and edges of the room. In 3D view, scale grips appear at the 3D corners and face centers of the room.

To scale a group of rooms and spaces, first you need to select them using Ctrl + select or marquee selection.

Click on a scale grip and move the mouse. The room or group of rooms are scaled with the opposite corner fixed as base point.

Click again to scale the rooms or type in and enter a numerical scale factor.

Pro Tip: The Scale tool can only be used in a project created in the Massing mode. Check the top right corner on the right panel to see if the project is Massing or BIM.
