Import Toposolid

Import toposolid to conduct several types of climate analysis available under 'Sustainability' or simply to visualize surrounding areas and elevations for the project site.

Step 1: Start by clicking on the dropdown of the project name, then select Import.

Step 2: Click on the Load Toposolid.

Step 3: Enter the location (name of the site) or the latitude and longitude of the site.

Step 4: Adjust site location by panning and zooming.

Step 5: (Optionally) Check the boxes of Elevations, Buildings and Satellite view to define the toposolid. These can also be done after the toposolid is imported.

Step 7: Click on Load toposolid to begin importing it into your project.

Step 8: Once the toposolid is imported, use the Move and Rotate tool to adjust it.

Step 9: Switch to 3D view to see the elevations along with the toposolid.

Step 10: Click on the toposolid to open the Object Property panel. Here, you can adjust:

  • Ground Depth

  • Turn on/off Elevations: Cick on the Turn Off Elevations option.

  • Satellite/Street View: To enable Satellite View, click on Enable Satellite View. And disable it using the same button.

  • Hide/Unhide Buildings: To hide the neighborhood buildings, click on the Hide Buildings button. To bring them back, click on the Show Buildings button.

  • Opacity: Adjust the opacity of your toposolid using the Opacity slider.

  • Fade: Adjust the fade for your toposolid using the Fade slider.

  • Set Datum: To set your site on top of the elevations, use the Set Datum option. Click a point on the toposolid to set the base of the site to that level. Then, click on Update Datum to set it.

  • Cut/Fill: To fill in the gap between the terrain and the base of the side, click on the Cut Fill option. Select the base of the site or space that you wish to cut and fill under, then check the boxes of Cut and Fill depending on your requirement.

Define the angles of the Cut and fill. Click on Apply to start the Cut and Fill process.

  • Reset Toposolid: To reset the cut and fill, right click on it and select Reset Toposolid.

  • Hide/Unhide Toposolid: To hide the toposolid, right click on it and select the Hide option. Or use the shortcut 'H'. Use the 'Show All' button at the bottom left of the screen or shortcut 'U' to unhide.

  • Isolate Toposolid: Right click on the toposolid and click on the Isolate option.

  • Lock/Unlock Toposolid: To lock the toposolid, use the Lock option from the Right click Selection. (Locking toposolid will prevent any accidental edits being done to it.)

  • Delete: To delete the toposolid, right click on it and click on Delete. Or press 'Delete' on the keyboard.

Pro-tip: Adjust the surrounding buildings if required in case there are any latest changes that have been made to them. For example, use the Push and Pull tool to change the building height or geometry. You can also delete it using the 'Delete' key.
