Pro- tip: To ensure successful import of the CAD follow the checklist below:

  1. Flatten the drawing to remove 3D elements

  2. Fully explode all blocks and groups

  3. Save the file in AutoCAD 2018 format

  4. Set correct units (eg feet-inch, meter, etc) if no units were assigned originally. Also, scale appropriately as CAD imports are to the dimension on Snaptrude

  5. Delete unnecessary lined and layers

  6. Move the drawing closer to the origin (0,0) or it may result in import failure.

(Optionally) To hide or delete your CAD plan, right-click on it and select hide, or use the Delete icon. You can also press the Delete button on your keyboard.

Once the CAD plan is imported, you can start sketching over it using the Draw tools. The Draw tools automatically snap to the CAD plan, making it easy to start creating your layout using the CAD as a reference.
