Exporting Snaptrude Model to SketchUp

Follow the steps below to learn how to export a Snaptrude model to SketchUp:

Step 1: Navigate to the project name dropdown menu

Step 2: Select the Export Model/Drawing option.

Step 3: Choose IFC Industry Foundation Classes as the file type and start the export. Once the export begins, a Pop-up will appear confirming the successful export. You'll also receive an email on your registered ID with a download link for the IFC file.

Step 4: To import the IFC file into SketchUp, begin by clicking on the 'Files' menu located at the top of the interface. From the dropdown options, select 'Import'.

Step 5: This action will open a dialogue box where you can ensure that All Supported Types or IFC File Format is selected. Choose the IFC file you downloaded from Snaptrude and click on Import.

Step 6: Once the import process is complete, a notification will pop up on your screen, confirming that the IFC file has been successfully imported. Close the panel, and the Snaptrude file will be imported into SketchUp.

Note: This import will not include the model’s materials. You’ll need to reapply them manually in SketchUp.
