Custom Program Sheets (Schedules)

Build Revit-style schedules in Program Mode: choose columns, group spaces on several levels, see rollups and edit data that syncs with the canvas.

Custom Program Sheets are Snaptrude's equivalent of Revit schedules. They let you group, read and edit the data of the spaces in your project in a sheet you design yourself: you choose the columns, set up one or more grouping levels (for example Story, then Department, then Space) and see rollups for each group. Edits you make to object rows sync both ways with the design canvas, and you can keep several custom sheets in one project, each giving a different view of the same program.

Before you start

  • Custom Program Sheets live in Program Mode.

  • They track space objects only. Other objects, such as BIM elements or furniture, don't appear in them.

  • A custom sheet reads the spaces that already exist in your project. To create spaces from a program, use Snaptrude's program sheet (P1 - Program), Import Excel or the Interpret agent instead.

Create a custom program sheet

You can start a custom sheet in two ways.

From the sheet creation flow

  1. Open Program Mode.

  2. Start a new sheet and choose to create a Custom Program Sheet.

  3. The sheet opens with default columns such as Label and Area per Object (Achieved). Configure the columns and grouping as described below.

From Group by

  1. In Program Mode, select Group by in the Organize group of the Snaptrude ribbon tab.

  2. Set up the grouping you want. Snaptrude creates a custom sheet organised by that grouping.

Tip: Give each custom sheet a clear purpose, such as "Area by story" or "Rooms by department", so your team knows which view to open.

Choose the columns

Columns are configurable, so each sheet shows only the data you need. You can add:

  • Object properties, such as label, achieved area, story, area type and dimensions.

  • Supported tags, such as the Department tag.

  • Calculated fields.

  • Custom parameters.

Row heights, column widths, styling and the grouping setup are saved with the project, so the sheet looks the same the next time you or a teammate opens it.

Set up multi-level grouping

Grouping turns a flat list of spaces into a schedule. You can define one or more grouping levels and change their order to restructure the table.

  1. In the custom sheet, open the grouping setup.

  2. Add the first grouping level, such as Story.

  3. Add further levels underneath, such as Department and then the individual space.

  4. Reorder the levels to change how the table is nested. The sheet updates to match.

Each group row shows rollups for the spaces inside it, such as Count and Volume.

Group row colors

  • Group rows based on something that already has a color, such as a department or a custom tag, display in that color.

  • For group rows without color information, set the color through the Group by option in the Snaptrude ribbon.

Note: Changing the grouping hierarchy can affect formulas and cell references in the sheet. If you need several analytical views, create separate sheets rather than regrouping one sheet back and forth.

Edit space data from the sheet

You can edit values on individual object rows, and the change is applied to the space on the design canvas. Changes made on the canvas or in Snaptrude's program data sheet also appear in your custom sheet straight away.

Editable object-level fields include:

  • Department name

  • Label name

  • Type reassignment

  • Achieved area

  • Story

  • Area type

  • Width, length, height and ratio

To edit a value:

  1. Find the space's object row (expand its group if needed).

  2. Select the cell and enter the new value.

  3. Check the design canvas or the Properties panel to see the updated space.

Note: Group rows and derived values are protected, so you can't type over a rollup. Count and Volume are read-only, and linked or queried cells can't be edited directly.

Manage multiple sheets

  • Create several custom sheets in a project, each with its own columns and grouping, much like keeping several schedules in Revit.

  • Duplicate an existing sheet to start a new view from the same setup.

  • Custom templates and their grouping order are kept when you duplicate or save the project.

Who can change a sheet's template

To prevent accidental changes to a sheet's structure, only the sheet's creator or an editor can customise its template or change the grouping hierarchy. Other collaborators can still view the sheet.

Export a sheet or use it in Present Mode

  • Export custom sheet data with Xlsx or Pdf in the Export group of the Snaptrude ribbon tab, or with the Export button at the top right.

  • To place the data on a presentation sheet, copy the cells you want (Ctrl + C (Cmd + C), or Copy in the Right-click menu) and paste them into Present Mode. They arrive as a vector data table that keeps your formatting.

Note: A table pasted into Present Mode is a static copy. It doesn't update when the program changes, so copy it again after edits. Hidden or collapsed grouped rows are not included in the copy.

Limitations

  • You can't create spaces in a custom sheet. Typing a label, area or count does not create new spaces.

  • You can't delete individual spaces from a custom sheet. Spaces deleted on the canvas or in Snaptrude's program data sheet disappear from the custom sheet automatically.

  • Count, Volume, group-level values and linked or queried cells are read-only.
