Export a Program to Excel or PDF

Download your Program Mode program as an Excel workbook or PDF, or paste a program table onto a Present Mode sheet.

You can export a program you've built in Program Mode as an Excel workbook (.xlsx) or a PDF. Use Excel when you want to keep working on the numbers or share an editable schedule with a client or consultant. Use PDF when you need a fixed, read-only copy for a report or submission.

Before you start

  • Open your project in Program Mode by clicking the Program tab in the top bar. Program Mode opens in a separate browser tab.

  • Check the program is in the state you want to share, for example with targets filled in.

  • If your project uses Design Proposals, make sure you're working in the proposal you want. Each proposal keeps its own program data sheet.

Export the program

  1. In Program Mode, click Export at the top-right. Alternatively, open the Snaptrude tab of the ribbon and use the Export group.

  2. Choose Xlsx for an Excel workbook or Pdf for a PDF.

  3. Optional: rename the file before exporting.

  4. Confirm the export. The file downloads to your computer.

Tip: After exporting to Excel, you can reformat the workbook to match your office standards. Changes you make in the downloaded file don't sync back to Snaptrude. To bring a spreadsheet into Snaptrude, use Import Excel (the Program Data tile in the Import dialog, or Import existing program when you first open Program Mode).

Export a custom program sheet

Custom program sheets (for example, a sheet grouped by Story, then Department, then Space, with rollups) can be exported as well as the program data sheet. Use the same Export option in Program Mode.

Put a program table on a sheet instead

If you need the program as part of a presentation sheet rather than a separate file, copy it into Present Mode:

  1. In Program Mode, select the cells you want. You can copy from any program sheet.

  2. Copy them with Ctrl + C (Cmd + C on Mac), or use Copy in the Right-click menu or the toolbar.

  3. Switch to Present Mode and paste onto a sheet.

The pasted table is a vector data table that keeps its formatting and can be resized. It exports with the sheet as a vector PDF.

Note: A pasted table is a static copy. It doesn't update when the program changes, so paste it again after edits. Hidden or grouped rows are left out of the pasted table, and angled text, images and underlined text aren't carried over.
