Present Mode is where you turn your Snaptrude project into presentation and drawing sheets. You place saved views from your model on sheets, add images, PDFs, program tables and annotations, and keep everything in sync with the model as the design changes.
Before you start
Sheets use the views saved in your project. Save the plan, 3D and elevation views you need in Design Mode or BIM Mode first.
Navigate the Present canvas with the scroll wheel to zoom and the right or middle mouse button to pan.
Create a sheet
Switch to Present Mode.
Click + New Sheet in the top toolbar, or open the Sheets tab in the left panel and click the + next to the sheet set (for example, Set 1).
Sheets are named automatically (Sheet 1, Sheet 2, and so on). New and duplicated sheets are placed to the right of the rightmost sheet on the canvas, so they never land on top of existing work.
Tip: To reorder sheets, drag them up or down in the Sheets tab.
Set sheet size, orientation and margins
Click the sheet's name to select it. The sheet options appear above the sheet.
Choose a standard size from the Sheet Size dropdown.
Choose Portrait or Landscape.
Use the Margin dropdown to add or remove a margin and set its size.
To delete a sheet, select it and press Delete.
Choose a proposal
If your project has more than one design proposal, Present Mode has its own proposal selector. Pick the proposal whose views you want to work with. Placed views are prefixed with the proposal name, so you can tell which proposal each view comes from.
Place views on a sheet
Open the Views tab in the left panel. Views are listed under your building by type: Plans, Site Plans, 3D Views and Elevations.
Drag a plan, elevation, saved 3D view or render onto the sheet.
Drop the view fully inside the sheet boundary.
Plan views come in as vector graphics with a Scale dropdown offering metric and imperial architectural and site scales. Plan views that contain BIM objects or furniture, 3D views and renders come in as raster images. 3D views saved with sun-hour or daylight analysis come in with their legend grouped to the view; right-click the group to ungroup it.
Note: A view that overlaps a sheet edge but is not placed inside the sheet shows a red border and a prompt. Move it fully onto the sheet so it belongs to that sheet and exports with it.
Resize, scale and crop a view
Resize: select the view and drag the edges or corners of its selection box.
Set a scale: for plan views, pick a value from the Scale dropdown.
Crop: double-click a view to show the crop box, then drag its edges. Cropping works on 2D views, 3D views and imported images.
Change the plan style: switch a plan view between Block, Rounded Rectangle and Bubble styles. Line, fill and text styling for plan views is set in the view settings; see Customizing View Styles in Present Mode.
Edit labels
Space labels on plan views are editable directly on the sheet.
Click a label to move, rotate, copy, align, recolor or delete it.
Double-click a label to edit its text.
Change font and size for a single label on the label itself, or for all labels in a view through the view's font settings.
Label edits you make on a sheet are kept when you update the view from the model.
Show dimensions on plan views
Dimensions and dimension lines you draw on the design canvas are carried into plan views in Present Mode. They appear on plan views only, not on 3D views or elevations. By default they use black Arial text at 2 mm with a 0.09 mm line. Use Dimension View Settings to show or hide them and to set their line color, line weight, font, font style and text size. Dimension View Settings also offer Update View, Bulk Update Views and Reset View; use Bulk Update Views to apply settings to several views at once.
Update views after design changes
Placed views are snapshots of your model. When the design changes, update them instead of placing them again.
In the Views tab, click Update all views to refresh every placed view.
To refresh only some views, select them first. The button changes to Update N views, where N is the number selected.
Wait for the Views updated successfully message.
Updating keeps each view's position, crop, scale, styles and label edits. It covers 2D plan views, the site plan, 3D views and 3D views with analysis. AI renders, and auto-generated diagrams you have moved out of their diagram set, are not updated.
Note: Camera angle, view settings and visibility changes are not picked up automatically. Save them to the view in Design Mode or BIM Mode first, then update in Present Mode.
Tip: If an update gives you a result you don't want, press Ctrl + Z (Cmd + Z on Mac) to undo it.
Add images, PDFs and other assets
Click Asset in the top toolbar, or press
Ctrl+U.Choose a file from your computer. Supported files include SVG, PNG and JPEG images.
Move and resize the asset on the sheet, or leave it on the canvas outside the sheets for ideation.
To bring in a PDF, single-page or multi-page, paste it, drag and drop it onto the canvas, or import it through Asset.
Tip: Save your title block as an SVG file and add it through Asset to reuse it across sheets.
Add program tables
In Program Mode, select the cells you want from any program sheet.
Copy them with
Ctrl+C(Cmd+Con Mac) or Copy in the Right-click menu.Switch to Present Mode and paste with
Ctrl+V(Cmd+Von Mac).
The table comes in as a vector table that keeps its formatting and can be resized. Hidden and grouped rows are left out.
Note: Pasted tables are static. They do not update when program data changes, so copy and paste again after edits.
Copy content between sheets
Copy and paste: select elements, press
Ctrl+C, thenCtrl+V(Cmdon Mac).Drag a copy: hold
Alt(Optionon Mac) and drag an element onto another sheet.Paste in Place: copy elements, select the target sheet, then press
Ctrl+Shift+V(Cmd+Shift+Von Mac) or choose Paste in Place from the Right-click menu. The content lands at the same position on the new sheet, which keeps title blocks, legends and views aligned across a set.
Annotate sheets
Use the Draw, Arrow, Text, Note (N), Rectangle and More (shapes) tools in the top toolbar to call out key design moves or add sheet titles. Set colour, opacity, fill, stroke and size (S, M, L, XL) in the style panel on the right, and remove marks with Eraser.
Export sheets
When your sheets are ready, click Export at the top right to save them as PDF, PNG or JPG. See Exporting Sheets for formats and options.
