Snaptrude allows designers to create, save, and utilize templates to standardize and streamline their project creation process, ultimately saving time and ensuring consistency across your designs. If you find yourself frequently using a particular project, you may choose to save the entire project as a template for future use.
Templates are versatile and can be used in both personal and team spaces. The process of creating templates remains the same, regardless of the workspace.
Create a Template
There are two ways to create a Template.
Option A: From the Templates Tab
Step 1: Open the 'Templates' tab from your workspace or the respective team
Step 2: Click on the 'New template' button. Enter the template name, select the units, and click 'Create'.
Option B: Create templates directly from a project
Step 1: Open an existing project to convert it into a template.
Step 2: Click on the dropdown beside the project name and select 'Save as Template'.
Step 3: Rename the template if required, then click 'Save'.
Navigate to the 'Templates' tab to access this template created from the project.
Editing a Template
Go to the thumbnail of the template you wish to edit. Click on the dropdown beside the template name & click 'Open Template'. Once the template opens, you can start working on to it in a similar way as working on a Snaptrude project.
From this menu, you can also choose to rename , duplicate, or delete it. This gives you additional flexibility and control over the template's management and usage.
Create a Project from a template
Once the template is created, you have two options to initiate/create a project from it:
Direct Creation: Simply click on the template name to create a new project based on that template. This straightforward approach immediately starts a new project using the predefined settings and elements of the template.
Dropdown Menu Options: Alternatively, you can use the dropdown beside the template name, where you'll find the option to 'Create Project'.
Whether you opt for the direct creation method or the dropdown menu, both approaches enable you to leverage the template effectively in initiating new projects.
