Organize Projects with Folders

Create folders and sub-folders on the Snaptrude dashboard, add and move projects, and delete folders you no longer need.

Folders keep your dashboard tidy by grouping related projects, for example by client, site or project phase. You can create folders inside any workspace or team, nest them into sub-folders, and move projects and folders between them.

Create a folder

  1. On the dashboard, open the workspace or team where you want the folder.

  2. Click New Folder.

  3. Type a name for the folder and press Enter.

Repeat these steps to create as many folders as you need.

Create a sub-folder

You can nest folders to build a hierarchy, such as a client folder with one sub-folder per project phase.

  1. Open the folder that will contain the sub-folder.

  2. Click New Folder.

  3. Type a name and press Enter.

You can also turn an existing folder into a sub-folder by dragging it onto another folder.

Add a project to a folder

To create a project directly inside a folder:

  1. Open the folder.

  2. Click New Project.

  3. In the New Project dialog, enter a Name, choose the Units and click Create. The project is created in the folder you opened.

To add a project you already have, drag it from the dashboard and drop it onto the folder.

Move projects and folders

You can reorganize at any time by moving projects and folders to a different location.

  1. Find the project or folder you want to move.

  2. Drag it onto the destination folder and release it.

Projects can also be moved into and out of other workspaces. This is turned on by default for new teams. If you can't move a project to another workspace, contact your team admin or Snaptrude support.

Tip: Check the destination workspace or team before you move a project that others are working on, so your collaborators can still find it.

Delete a folder

  1. Click the three dots next to the folder you want to delete.

  2. Select Delete.

  3. Click Delete in the confirmation prompt.

Note: Deleted folders cannot be recovered. To be safe, move any projects or sub-folders you want to keep out of the folder before you delete it.

Tips

  • Agree on a folder structure with your team (for example, Client > Project > Phase) so everyone files projects the same way.

  • Create the folder first, then start new projects from inside it so they land in the right place.

  • Use the Search projects or folders box at the top of the left sidebar to find a folder quickly.
