Using Add Vertex
Updated over a week ago

This feature enables the creation of new corners or the alteration of existing ones on the objects such as spaces, walls, slabs, floors, etc. Remember, this tool works only in 2D.

Adding a Vertex to a Space

Step 1: Navigate to the Design tab in the 2D view and select Add Vertex.

Image

Step 2: Hover over the edge where you want to add the new vertex. A blue snap point will appear to guide you.

Image

Step 3: Click once satisfied with the point's position. This action adds a new vertex and splits the edge.

Image

Step 4: Use the Edit (Shortcut 'P') tool to adjust the newly split vertex or edge as needed. Note that you can edit this vertex or edge in the 3D view as well using the Push/pull tool (Shortcut 'P').

Pro-tip: By clicking inside a space, you can reveal all its current vertices. This feature simplifies the task by allowing you to see all existing vertices, enabling you to place new vertices accurately.

Adding a Vertex to BIM Elements

Lets looks at how to add vertex to floors when creating a detailed interior design:

Step 1: Click on Add Vertex in the Design tab in the 2D view of your project.

Image

Step 2: Click inside the object to reveal all current vertices present in the floor you wish to edit.

Image

Step 3: Hover over the edge and left-click at the point where the new vertex should be. You add multiple vertices along the same or an different edge as well.

Image

Step 4: Use the Edit tool to adjust the newly created vertices. Observe how the flooring changes after adding the vertex.

Note: Apply these same steps to add vertices while designing spaces, walls, slabs, columns, beams, and generic masses. However, vertices cannot be added for Ceilings.
