In Snaptrude, you have the capability to upload PDFs directly onto the design canvas. This feature is particularly useful if you want make a 3D model from a reference pdf.
Import a PDF in your project on Snaptrude.
Step 1: Navigate to the Import tab.
Step 2: When the import window appears, select PDF.
Step 3: Either drag and drop the file or browse it from the system and click Open.
Step 4:The file will be uploaded. If you want have selected the wrong file and want to reupload, click the cross icon shown in the image below. If not, go ahead and set the parameters for your PDF upload.
Step 5: Next, the "Storey" number defaults to the current storey you are currently at. Change it by using the arrow keys in the storey tab or entering the value manually.
Step 6: If the scale is known, select it from the scale dropdown. Alternatively, set it later from the Imported Files tab.
Step 7: If the PDF has multiple pages, choose the page number from the dropdown to upload that page from the PDF.
Step 8: Lastly, click Import.
PDF is then successfully imported to the project on Snaptrude.
Note: You can move and rotate the PDF as needed on the Design canvas.
Scale the imported PDF from the Imported Files tab.
Step 1: Click on the Imported Files icon.
Step 2: Select PDF
Step 3: Click the Scale Object icon to rescale the imported PDF. Align two points according to a known dimension in the PDF. Enter the dimension value manually and press enter. The PDF will scale to the correct dimensions.
The Imported Files tab also provides hide/unhide, and delete options.
Pro-tip: Use the Lock/Unlock feature to lock/unlock the PDF in its position for accurate and easy modeling.
