This guide walks through the process of uploading images in Snaptrude, an essential feature for tracing hand-drawn sketches or creating 3D models from reference images.
Follow the steps below to upload an image into your project on Snaptrude:
Uploading an Image
Step 1: Navigate to the Import tab.
Step 2: Once the Import window appears, select Images.Snaptrude supports .jpg, .png, .bmp, and .jpeg image formats.
Step 3: Browse your system to select an image to import. After selecting, click Open.
Step 4: The default storey value is set as the current/active storey. To change this storey, use the arrows or manually enter a value.
Step 5: If you have selected an incorrect file and wish to upload another image, select Back. To continue with the current upload, click Import.
Upon successful import, the file appears in the workspace.
Scaling the image after importing
Step 1: Scale the image according to a known reference dimension or the graphical scale in the image. Align the two dots according to the reference dimension.
Step 2: Enter the dimension value and press enter to scale the image.
The image is now uploaded and scaled to actual dimensions, ready for 3D modelling.
