After installing the Snaptrude Manager for Revit, use it to upload Revit models to Snaptrude. You can then continue editing and working on the model within Snaptrude as well.
Note:
Each time a Revit model is uploaded to Snaptrude, a new project will be created automatically. Uploading a Revit model to an existing Snaptrude project is not supported.
Even if a Revit model has been uploaded to Snaptrude previously, uploading it to the same project again is not currently supported.
Uploading to Snaptrude
Step 1: To import your Revit model on Snaptrude, open the model in the 3D view. Activate the section box and adjust it, as only those elements within the section box will be imported to Snaptrude.
Note: Make sure to add the materials appropriately on the Revit elements for them to reflect correctly on Snaptrude.
Step 2: Then open Snaptrude Manager from the Snaptrude ribbon on Revit and click on 'Export to Snaptrude'.
Step 3: Upload the model either on the personal workspace or any of the permitted team space. Optionally, select the folder in which you wish to add the project to.
Note: Teams that have reached the project threshold or teams you do not have permission to export to will be greyed out in the list.
Step 4: Once the selections have been made, click on 'Begin Export'.
Step 5: After the export completes, click 'Launch Snaptrude' to open a new project in a new browser tab on Snaptrude.
Importing data from Revit to Snaptrude
Step 1: After the manager redirects to a new browser, a window opens to select the levels from the Revit model to import into Snaptrude. (If you are importing the entire model, you can leave all the levels checked as it is.)
Step 2: When importing a project into a team, the Snaptrude Manager will display a list of all doors, windows, furniture, and walls included in the Revit project. You can select items from this list and add them directly to the team's central library. Once the selections have been made, click on 'Save' and the import process will then begin.
Note:
1. After adding these items (including wall types) to the team's central library, you can then use them in all other projects created in the same team.
2. This is an optional step, i.e., skipping this will still import the Revit model with all the elements on Snaptrude.
Step 3: The Snaptrude manager will show the object count in the Revit model and those imported on Snaptrude. This data is also downloaded onto your system for the record.
The table below is a reference for users to understand how each element category from Revit is mapped on Snaptrude.

Editing the imported Revit model on Snaptrude
Step 1: All Revit elements imported into Snaptrude are parametric, meaning they can be easily edited using the design tools and from the object properties panel.
Step 2: You can also continue working on the imported Revit model on Snaptrude. For example, let's add a few walls using the draw tool.
Step 3: Use the Snaptrude libraries to add interior details to the model. For example, let's add a door to the room created.
In the next tutorial, learn how to reconcile these changes made in Snaptrude back to Revit.
