In Snaptrude, you can find both uploaded and default doors and windows in the respective libraries within your project. These fenestrations are fully parametric, allowing for easy customization to suit your design needs. Moreover, they are seamlessly integrated into the project's Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost calculations, enhancing the accuracy of your project data as you develop your model.
1. Select Door or Window:
Open the door/window tab (Shortcut ‘D’ & ‘W’ respectively).
Select the desired category.
Scroll to find the door/window thumbnail.
Click on the thumbnail to select it.
2. Place Door or Window:
While placing in 3D or 2D view, click on the desired location on a wall within the model.
While placing the door/window, you can also define the distance from the nearest edge of the wall to precisely place them.
If you place the door/window in 2D, you can also define the opening orientation by hovering the mouse in that direction before placing it.
To edit the opening orientation after placing the door/window, select it from the 3D view and go to the 2D view and edit the opening toggle buttons as required.
3. Edit Dimensions (Optional):
To adjust the size, select the door or window and modify the height and width values from the object properties panel.
4. Move Door or Window (Optional):
Select the door or window.
Choose the Move Tool (Shortcut ‘M’) or Select-to-Move directly by clicking on an edge or vertex and dragging it across.
Optionally, enter a numerical value for precise distance while changing the door/window location.
5. Copy Door or Window (Optional):
Use the Copy/Array Tool (Shortcut 'C') from the design tab to create copies of the door/window on the same wall. (Note that the door/window cannot be copied to different host walls).
Note:
To delete a door/window, click on it and press 'Delete' on your keyboard.
Doors and windows on Snaptrude automatically create openings in the walls, which are deducted in the project's BOQ & cost calculation (if the doors/windows are a part of the team library and cost is assigned to them there).
