Rendering on Snaptrude
Updated over a week ago

After finalizing your model on Snaptrude, you can enhance its presentation by generating renders using the Render tool located in the View tab. These render views allow you to share your designs with clients and stakeholders who may not be directly involved in the design process. By visually appealing representations of your model, you enable them to view the design comprehensively and offer valuable feedback or comments. This facilitates smoother collaboration and ensures all stakeholders align with the project vision.

How to create & view renders?

  1. Access Render Tool: Navigate to the View tab and select the Render option.

  2. Name the Render: In the window that appears, enter a name for the render.

  3. Initiate Rendering: Click "Start Render" to begin rendering.

  4. Monitor Progress: You'll notice the rendering process has commenced when the eye icon flashes.

  5. Access Render: Once the render is complete, it is automatically saved in the View tab.

  6. View Render: To view the rendered image, click on it in the View tab, which will open in a new browser tab.

Navigating the render interface

  1. You can navigate the rendered model using familiar tools like orbit, pan, and zoom, along with their respective shortcuts. Moreover, you can choose specific viewing angles, such as top, bottom, right, or left, from the options provided in the top ribbon.

  2. You can also “Save Scene” from a render, which will be saved in the “Views” tab. Any views created in the project will also be visible in this tab.

  3. Rename, Export Views, & Export Comment history of the render by clicking on the dropdown beside the render name.

Share renders with stakeholders.

Sharing renders with others is very similar to how a project is shared.

  1. Click on the "Share Render" button at the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Enter the email IDs of the stakeholders.

  3. Click on "Send Invite".

  4. Adjust permission settings or remove the member from the list by selecting the respective option from the drop-down menu beside the user’s ID. Users can have any of these two permissions:

    1. “Can View Scenes/Comment”: This is a “Viewer” only permission where users cannot create any new scenes on the render but can only view the already created scenes & comment on the model.

    2. “Can Create Scenes”: This is higher level permission where the user can not only view scenes & comment, but they can also create a new scene from the render.

  5. Optionally, you can change the sharing option to "Anyone with the link" to share the model directly with anyone who wants to view it.

  6. Stakeholders can then access and view the model on their computers, tablets, or phones.

Adding & exporting comments made in renders

Commenting in renders works similarly as the project comments.

  1. Use the "Add Comment" tool.

  2. Click on the element in the model you want to comment on.

  3. Enter your feedback. Optionally, attach documents or tag the responsible individual in a comment.

  4. View all comments in the Comments tab next to the Share button.

  5. Click on a comment in the list to view it in the render.

  6. Reply to comments or resolve them by toggling the button.

  7. Search, filter or sort the comments in the tab by clicking on the respective icons.

  8. Comments made here can also be viewed in real time from the project.
